We contacted Yunnan Minority Travel (YMT) in December 2022 by E-mail requesting to tailor make a private 12 days tour in February/March 2023 to suit our preferences and budget. Sunny responded without delay (time zone difference allowed). The tour started after visiting our relatives in Kunming. With numerous E-mail and Wechat correspondence, our tour itinerary was designed. We are very satisfied with Sunny's suggestions on places to visit and attractions, with her choice of hotels (clean and comfortable), with the service provided by the driver throughout the tour. This was a superb tour... beautifully crafted, taking us through the long history of Yunnan province and travelling from the snow mountains in the North to the sub-tropical warmth of the South. The accommodations were  as wonderful and the food experiences truly memorable. Sunny is not only a fount of knowledge but a wonderful host and has a great sense of humour. Sunny went to great lengths to provide us with experiences much beyond expectations and we cannot thank her enough.

I arranged a day trip with Sunny on very short notice. I am so glad that I did! We cycled for 60km along very scenic Erhai Lake, with tours through several small villages. Sunny provided many wonderful insights on Bai culture, and made the day very enjoyable and informative. She speaks great English, and made sure that we had plenty of opportunities for photo opps along the way. She even prepared a very special tea break at her hotel -- which is situated right on the lake. I would highly recommend this tour with Sunny!

We just came back from Yunnan. Would we recommend travel with Yunnan Minority Travel. Certainly, yes.
There were many surprises along the way. We came with certain ideas about Yunnan and the people, and were pleasantly surprised that many of them were wrong. We came to see for ourselves. Even in 16 days, it was more than we could see and fully understand. It took us a couple of weeks after we returned home in Beijing to really appreciate and understand all we had seen. We travelled in December 2020. Sunny helped us to make the plan for our almost 3 weeks of travel. She gave us many helpful tips concerning hotels, places etc. Among other things, we visited with her a small village far up in the mountains of Weishan. It was great. Sunny quickly gets into contact with the locals, which allowed us a different insight how the people live. Her knowledge about minorities is impressing. She took us to a local market to buy and try things, answered all our questions (and we had a lot :)) and gave us a really great insight to the life of minorities.. We travelled with “006”, her driver of confidence. Sunny was in contact with us and 006 all the time. We enjoyed this trip very much and can strongly recommend Sunny for any individual tour in Yunnan. You can feel she loves what she does. Sunny and Gerard, we wish you all the best.
